As a century-old German chemical giant with over three decades of deep-rooted presence in China, WACKER CHEMICAL (CHINA) CO., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as “WACKER”) is set to make its debut at the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), focusing specifically on the “Smart Automotive Chain.” The world-leading silicone producer will present over 20 exhibits, including four new materials making their global premiere, all designed for critical components in electric vehicles and electronic devices.

With a clear strategy aimed at strengthening collaboration across the supply chain, WACKER’s participation underscores its ambition to forge closer ties with upstream and downstream partners. A company representative emphasized, “We aim to use the CISCE platform to build stronger relationships across the industry chain, explore new cooperation opportunities, and showcase WACKER’s strengths as a provider of highly reliable material solutions, particularly in the smart electric vehicle sector.”
China, as the world’s largest automotive market, offers a robust industrial ecosystem and vast consumer base, providing a solid foundation for WACKER’s continued expansion. The CISCE, as the world’s first national-level expo centered on supply chains, gathers numerous enterprises from across the industrial value chain—aligning perfectly with WACKER’s goals of partnership and market development. Through the expo, WACKER hopes to identify new collaborators, strengthen the industrial chain, discover new application scenarios, and reinforce its leadership in the Chinese market.
To maximize its impact, WACKER has prepared extensively for the event. Its exhibit includes virtual models that provide an intuitive and detailed look at how its products are applied across automotive systems, highlighting their features and benefits. The booth design incorporates a “Molecular Symbiosis” concept, symbolizing the company’s drive to push the boundaries of material performance through diversified, customized, and high-performance silicone products.
Among more than 20 exhibits spanning automotive parts and electronics, four new products stand out: fire-resistant materials for busbars, thermal conductive gels for charging guns, high-performance thermal interface materials for chip packaging, and silicone-based liquid cooling fluids.
The fire-resistant material for busbars is engineered specifically for insulation and fire protection in electric vehicle power distribution systems. It offers excellent flexibility at low temperatures, high-temperature stability, voltage resistance, and fire retardancy—significantly enhancing the safety and reliability of busbars.
The thermal conductive gel for charging guns is being launched globally for the first time. This material addresses overheating issues in electric vehicle charging systems with high thermal conductivity and superior physical properties.
WACKER’s high-performance thermal interface material combines high thermal conductivity with strong adhesion and low modulus for stress absorption, preventing chip warping in flip-chip TIM1 applications. Meanwhile, the company’s thermal grease offers high thermal conductivity and low thermal resistance with outstanding stability, making it suitable for TIM2 applications.
Another highlight is WACKER’s silicone-based liquid cooling fluid. With the exponential growth of big data and artificial intelligence, traditional air cooling has become inadequate for AI servers and data centers. WACKER’s silicone fluid offers low viscosity, high flash point, and high specific heat capacity, enabling efficient liquid cooling. This technology supports effective thermal management, reducing operational costs and improving overall system efficiency.
These innovations underscore WACKER’s capabilities in silicone technology and its competitive edge in the market. The performance characteristics and broad application potential of these materials have generated significant anticipation for the company’s presentation at the expo.
In addressing supply chain challenges, WACKER has implemented a series of strategic measures. The company uses digital platforms to monitor global customer demand in real time, select optimal supply routes, and track product status for timely adjustments. It also emphasizes close collaboration with customers, develops local resources, and supports diverse customer needs. Furthermore, WACKER enhances localized supply capabilities—exemplified by the recent expansion of its specialty silicone production site in Zhangjiagang, which strengthens its ability to supply high-quality products locally.
Looking ahead, WACKER has clear plans for building a faster, more resilient, and agile supply chain. The company is increasing automation in production and packaging at its Zhangjiagang base and implementing unmanned transport within the plant to improve supply efficiency. It will also continue to strengthen cooperation with customers and suppliers to ensure supply chain stability and flexibility.
Additionally, WACKER remains committed to sustainability throughout its supply chain. The company has joined the “Together for Sustainability” (TFS) initiative, and by the end of 2024, more than 200 suppliers had completed TFS assessments. “We will continue to work closely with suppliers, helping them develop plans to improve sustainability performance and meet WACKER’s TFS standards,” a company representative stated.
Through innovation in material science and a steadfast commitment to collaboration and sustainability, WACKER is positioned to play a pivotal role in the advancement of the electric vehicle industry and beyond.
